Chairman’s Message
Hello all,
What a busy month April has been. After lots of committee meetings and lots of preparation we had our Rally Day. It wasn’t at the usual venue but thanks to the kind rally chair John Martin we had a fall back plan of having the rally at his after the showground was just too wet to use. We had lots of members on the day taking part in the competitions that each club was in charge of organising. We had lots of fantastic handicraft and cookery items entered which is always nice to see once they have been judged. It was nice to see different clubs taking part in team activities and coming out on top. I wish all the best to Gillingham and Shaftesbury Men’s and Ladies team and Beaminster Junior TOW team all the best as they will progress onto SWA TOW in June competing on behalf of Dorset YFC, which also the CUBE Exhibit will go forward from Puddletown.
We’ve also seen the Dorset YFC Calf show take place this month the judge going around to your farms to see your calves you’ve been spending time training, washing, clipping etc. lots of entries this year with the new classes put forward, results to be on the family fun day on 2nd June. Good luck to all who took part.
Two County comps will take place in May with Stock Judging and Clay Shoot thank you to Sherborne and Blandford for putting these comps on. good luck to all who is taking part in them.
Amy Wonnacott
County Chairman
