Chairman’s Message
Hello all,
Hope you’ve all started the year off well. It been a busy month for some clubs practicing and preparing for the Dorset YFC speaking competitions day at Kingston Maurward college courtyard classrooms on Sunday 21st January. We had many teams from Beaminster, Puddletown, Gillingham & Shaftesbury, Marshwood and Sherborne. We had multiple competitions running with junior reading and public speaking, situations vacant 16-21 and 22-28, MACE Debating and Brainstrust. Everyone showed so much enthusiasm and hard work towards this competition and it was lovely to see so many new faces and so many new juniors taking part in these competitions I’m proud to say our future is in good capable hands with some huge talents. Good luck to all those moving forward to SWA round beginning of March and competing on behalf of Dorset YFC.
I would like to say thank you to Dorset Signs and Designs and Robertson Traditional Joinery for making two new situations vacant trophies this year.
We have made a start with our competitions held by other clubs on behalf of Dorset with our skittles competition has started meeting every week with different clubs going against each other. We have our sports day coming up next month and the County Ploughing Match incorporated into Puddletown YFCs Ploughing Match would love to see more/new members taking part.
Good luck to all competing in sports day and the ploughing match!
Remember to dress up warm if your supporting on sports day! See you there!
